About The Artist

He is Nikhil, currently living in Delhi, India. He is a fine artist delivering his thoughts, expression, and experience through painting as a medium to communicate with society. He was born in Ghaziabad in 2001. He lived there for 19 years and then moved to Delhi to pursue his studies in fine art. He started his journey in art when he was in the 11th standard and decided to pursue fine art from a recognised institute and moved to Delhi in 2020. He had recently completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the College of Arts, Delhi and is currently pursuing his Masters from the same institute.

He generally works in mediums like acrylic, oil paints with a combination of different mediums such as soft pastels, oil pastels, pen and inks, and printing techniques.

His work delves into the intricate dance between the mechanical world surrounding us and the complex thoughts swirling within our minds. He is endlessly fascinated by the synergy between man-made machinery and the inner workings of our consciousness. Through his art, he seeks to intertwine these two realms, exploring the symbiotic relationship between external mechanisms and internal reflections.

The artworks present a commentary on urbanisation and environmental destruction. The artworks portray a skeletal structure under construction, surrounded by barren land, industrial cranes, and machines evoking a sense of loss and irreversible transformation. The muted, earthy tones of the background emphasise the bleakness of a once-thriving landscape, now reduced to lifeless remnants of tree stumps and rocky terrain.

The artworks compel the viewer to reflect on the paradox of progress: Are we building for a better future, or are we systematically erasing what sustains us? It challenges us to reconsider the price of development and whether the vision of a sustainable coexistence remains merely a decorative afterthought in an industrialised world.
